Too complex for generic software.
Too important for a generic development shop.
Growing businesses reach a point where the way they work no longer fits the software available to them.
Work runs on spreadsheets, email and memory. Ready-made tools cover part of the job. Big corporate systems cover far more than is needed, at a cost and complexity that doesn't suit the business. And developers for hire often build exactly what was asked for, without asking whether it was the right thing to build.
Kendratek was set up to fill that gap: to understand how a particular business works, then design and build software that fits it, at a size and cost that makes sense. Business first, software second.
We deliberately don't hire out developers by the hour. We take responsibility for software that solves a real business problem, and we stay involved as the business changes.
We also build and operate a product of our own. Running ExporterProfile.com keeps us close to what software is like to live with after launch, which is where most of its value, and most of its problems, actually show up.
What we believe
Each one changes real decisions on real projects.
We start with how work gets done, who's involved and what slows it down. The technology comes after that, not before.
A small system that solves the real problem is worth more than a big one that solves everything in theory. We build in stages and grow what works.
If people need a manual to use a system, they'll find ways around it. Making it easy for everyday users is essential, not a finishing touch.
